Imperforate anus can come in many forms, high or low and in many cases somewhere varying between, they can be partial connections through to the anus or complete disconnections from it. In most cases a child born with imperforate anus [IA] will require a colostomy operation right after birth so the extent of the IA may be looked at in due course when a course of action is identified.
